About the show

Your nest is what you build around you, and within you.

The Science of Building Your Nest explores what it really takes to build a healthier home, business and body.

From indoor air quality and sustainable materials to entrepreneurship, nervous system health and long-term wealth, each conversation breaks down the systems that support a thriving life. The guests are people who build things for a living: builders, tradespeople, realtors, healers and founders, most of them right here in Austin.

The host

Keating Kuhn

Keating Kuhn hosts The Science of Building Your Nest. He owns Gold Eagle Services, the Austin HVAC company he started in 2017, and its sister company, Pure Maintenance of Central Texas. Gold Eagle's favorite calls are the stubborn ones: usually botched ductwork, and once, a family of raccoons living in the ducts.

He started the show to meet Austin business owners and local experts, learn from them and pass it on to homeowners. Along the way he's building a circle of pros he trusts, getting better at teaching, and having fun doing it.

He lives in Austin with his wife, Kaitlyn, and their dog, Koda, and off the clock he's at the Creek and the Cave, Far Out Lounge or on the Greenbelt. He was part of the Texas Hemp Industry Association, and he starts every morning with three spoonfuls of hemp hearts.
